Our History

The Pebble House B&B Inn
has been featured on the Travel Channel’s Romantic Inns of America, as well as in many books, magazines, and newspapers.

The Pebble House was built in 1912 as a summer home for people from Chicago.  For the next forty years, the sixty cottages surrounding the building were part of Orchard Beach Resort, which included a dance and bowling pavilion, a dining hall and a stable.  Eventually the cottages were sold.  Only the Pebble House remained.

The Pebble House (originally known as “The Residence”) is constructed of decorative concrete block, wood, and the stones which give the Inn it’s name.  Our yard includes the Gazebo, Pond and Screen House.

The Coach and Blueberry House, once part of The Pebble House, are now separate and private property.

The Primary architectural and decorating style of The Pebble House is the Arts & Crafts style, also know as Mission Oak.  We love to share our enthusiasm for the period!

The Pebble House opened as a Bed & Breakfast in 1984.
